A rare Contour chair designed by David Colwell in 1968 and produced by William J.Fox, UK.

Colwell designed this chair while at the RCA working on a 2 year project with ICI Plastics. A highly acclaimed chair from the outset it was selected for the important ‘Modern Chairs 1918-1970’ at the Whitechapel Art gallery in 1970 and is in the collection of the V&A.

Nylon coated steel frame with heat-formed acrylic seat shaped with a pneumatic ram.

The chair is in good strong condition but does have some scratches and scuffs to the perspex.
