Abstract by Colin Fifield, undated but likely to be circa 1970s. Really unusual piece on a circular canvas set within in a pink frame. Signed on the reverse. Unfortunately the outer surround has two breaks, although it’s fine when hung. The outer surround is covered in canvas and painted, there is wear and ageing to the finish.

Colin was a painter & potter, born in Greenwich, London. He went to Camberwell School of Art and Crafts and continued his studies at the Slade School of Fine Art where he was taught by William Townsend, Frank Auerbach & Euan Uglow.

He exhibited widely in London and the South East & Kent, including the prestigious Bankside Gallery and has work in the Slade Collection. His inspiration comes mainly from the landscapes of Kent especially the coastal areas of Dungeness, Deal, Folkestone and Hastings.

Dimensions including frame 55.75cm wide x 51.5cm high.
