Anthony Curtis was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, studying at Loughborough College, and Bath Academy of Art in Corsham in 1952. He was taught by artists including Terry Frost, Bryan Wynter, Peter Lanyon and Kenneth Armitage.
This large abstract seems particularly influenced by his St Ives tutors, many of Curtis’s works were painted on his visits to Frost and Lanyon in Cornwall.
