Ernest Race BA 3 chairs
A set of four BA 3 chairs designed in 1945 by Ernest Race for Race Furniture, UK. The BA 3 chair was the first chair Race designed for Race Furniture, utilising re-cast aluminium from redundant British warplanes. It was awarded a Gold Medal at the 1951 Milan Triennale.
In very good condition, the frames have been resprayed at some stage fairly recently and reupholstered in a dark grey fabric. The fabric has a couple of very minor marks on it and there is a small amount of bobbling on the backrest of a couple of the chairs.
